For the last few years, San Sebastián has been placed at the forefront of cutting-edge European cities that base their development on the support of Science, technology, sustainable development and culture. It was named the European capital of culture in 2016.
It´s a city perfect for wandering round by foot, as well as having a well-structured urban transport service, wide and comfortable pedestrian spaces, cycle paths and extensive walkways that connect the entire city.
It has an important international tourist tradition that dates back to the 19th century. There´s convenient and clean public transport services and it is also home to architectural icons such as the Kursaal Congress Centre and Auditorium. Another major feature of the city is its gastronomy, characterised by its creativity which has made it world-known.

in San Sebastián

It´s the most important celebration of the city dedicated to its Patron. It is always full of joy, costumes, music, rhythm, and especially, lots of drums.

A big Jazz festival that includes about a hundred concerts, free of charge, on a dozen stages around San Sebastián, both indoor as well as in the open air.

A big event for classical music. Opera, ballet, great symphony orchestras, small chamber group ensembles, Romanesque organ, choral music, contemporary composers, local talent, big names in the international scene, children´s shows… all take place in this festival.

The International film Festival has taken place in San Sebastián every year since 1953, and is one of the most famous and prestigious in Europe.
