Study Spanish at Lacunza

The school is located just 10 minutes from the centre of San Sebastian and Zurriola beach. Next to the school, you will find the Tabakalera building, the Cristina Enea park and the Eguia neighbourhood.

The facilities of the Lacunza school in San Sebastian consist of a large terrace with coffee, drinks and snack machines, a social area and a library with books, magazines, newspapers and tourist guides, a multimedia room where you can watch films, short films and series in Spanish, 17 classrooms with air-conditioning, heating, sound system and interactive whiteboards (in selected classrooms). 8 computers with free Internet access, free wifi access throughout the school and 8 toilets (one of them adapted for the disabled).

The team of teachers have specific training, extensive experience and a real vocation, are in continuous training sessions, seminars and conferences and have been selected from candidates who have completed the International House Teacher Training Course.

School and courses

The school is located just 10 minutes from the city centre and the Zurriola surfing beach. In the school neighbourhood, Eguia, you will find interesting places to visit such as the Tabakalera and Cristina Enea.
Courses are offered throughout the year and most of our courses start on any Monday of the year (except total beginners). Some special courses start on the first Monday of each month. Exam preparation courses have start dates which may vary depending on the date of the exam.
On public holidays the school will be closed, and we will make up most group classes by starting 30 minutes earlier on the following school day. We will also make up for private lessons. You will be informed about the exact timetable on your first day.
The highest percentage of the students are between 18 and 25 years old.
There are groups for all levels. On the first day of class a placement test will be carried out in order to place students according to their level of Spanish, making the learning process much more efficient.
All Spanish classes are 45 minutes long so that the learning process is much more efficient.

Accommodation

Families who follow a vegan or vegetarian diet are rare in Spain, generally following a Mediterranean diet. In addition, we have no families with a gluten-free or lactose-free diet to accommodate our students. And no one who eats kosher or halal. For this reason, there will be a supplement of 25€/week for the following special diets: gluten-free, vegetarian, various intolerances, vegan, etc.
The school offers three types of accommodation: shared flat, host family and student residence.
All accommodation is located between 5 and 30 minutes from the school, either on foot or by public transport.
In the residence your room will be available from 2 PM. The reception is open 24 hours so you can store your luggage if you arrive earlier. Check out is until 11 AM. In host families and shared flats check in will be from 8 PM. until 11.30 PM. If you need to arrive later or earlier, please notify your host family or us before your arrival. Check out is until 11 AM. If you need to leave later/earlier, you will need to leave your room and you can ask the school or your host to store your luggage at home. In any case, we kindly ask you to inform us of your expected arrival and departure time.
The school offers door-to-door transfers from nearby airports and major train stations to make your arrival in San Sebastian even easier. There is an extra charge for this service.
